Discover the stories of Drayton's Pioneers

May 18, 2025, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join us at the historic Royal Bull's Head Inn for a captivating presentation celebrating the remarkable lives of two influential Drayton pioneers:

  • Edward Lord, who arrived in Drayton in 1848, ventured to Germany in 1851 with an ambitious plan to inspire families to immigrate to the Darling Downs and contribute as farm labourers and builders.
  • Joseph Jacob Rub, a talented builder and one of the German migrants left a lasting legacy in Drayton. He constructed the first Roman Catholic Church and is believed to have built the current Inn in 1859. As the final Mayor of Drayton, Joseph’s story is one of innovation and leadership.

Enjoy this engaging journey through history, complemented by the warm ambience of the Inn. Standard general entry prices apply, with tea, coffee, and scones available for just $7.50.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with the past and uncover Drayton's fascinating heritage!
