Welcome Georgia!
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Welcomes Georgia Lane as Head of Fundraising
A familiar Gold Coast face has joined the team at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Georgia Lane, Founder and President of not-for-profit Women of Influence, has taken up residence as the new National Trust of Australia (Queensland) Head of Fundraising.
Starting at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in mid-June, Georgia has hit the ground running, using her 20 years of sales and marketing experience and 16 years running a not-for-profit to lead the newly expanded Fundraising team.
Georgia said, The appeal for me with National Trust in Queensland is the opportunity to use my influence and experience to make a difference in the world, by protecting our creatures, culture, heritage and environment. It is the perfect combination to be able to combine my skills, experience and passion for a cause I truly love and believe in.
Mum to 15-year-old Jaime and 12-year-old Nicholas, Georgia is a multi-tasking master. She juggles full-time work and her ongoing commitment as the head of Women of Influence.
Our purpose is to deliver events for professional women to connect, learn and grow,
she said.
Georgia is also studying Philanthropy at QUT Business School and hopes to bring these insights to the Fundraising arm of National Trust in Queensland, which encompasses research, education, conservation and breeding programs at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Currumbin Wildlife Hospital, as well as preserving cultural and built heritage across the Sunshine State.
My goal is to create a culture of philanthropy which will enable us all to be involved and make an impact,
said Georgia. I am already enjoying being part of a passionate, hardworking and capable team.
