National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] is dedicated to respecting and honouring the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Queensland. For this reason, NTAQ with the assistance of a number of organisations, has developed a new Reconciliation Action Plan.

The plan will help NTAQ move forward over the next 2 years, guiding staff and volunteers to appropriately acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Queensland's many traditional lands and language groups.

The new plan was officially launched with a wonderful ceremony held at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday the 20th of June 2023. More than 70 community members, local organisations and the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) attended.

“This is a significant milestone for NTAQ, as we continue to show our commitment to First Nations peoples and their cultures. It’s so important for their stories to be incorporated and acknowledged in all of our operations. We look forward to launching the new Reconciliation Action Plan and most importantly putting the plans in place.” CEO National Trust of Australia (QLD) Jayme Cuttriss.
