The “Bigge’s Camp” Express

Enjoy a steam train journey from Roma Street to Grandchester Railway Station on a BB18 1/4 No 1079 locomotive. The “Bigge’s Camp” Express steam train tour is made even more memorable with the inclusion of the wooden bodied heritage Dining Car NO DC/G 1255 which entered service in 1935.

The steam train will depart Roma Street Station at 9.10am with an expected arrival time at Granchester Railway Station of 11.00am. You will then have two hours to explore the railway station which was previously known as 'Bigge's Camp'. The once-essential equipment and machinery on display will fascinate young and old alike.
