Antique & Vintage Bridal Gown Display

Bridal Gowns fit the theme "curiosity" as they are an item that is rare, unusual and intriguing. 
"Rare" as they are often hand made and one-of-a-kind.
"Unusual" as the gown reflects the taste and style of the bride to be and the era of the marriage. 
"Intriguing"  because the gown can give us a snapshot of social history of the region.

Twenty Antique & Vintage gowns ranging across eighty years from 1917 to 1997 will be on display. Each gown has provenance of local family history. The collection is sourced from local women their family, mothers and daughters. 

The display will be presented within "Yesterday's Memories" a privately owned museum at Mandarana. The museum is  adjacent to a historic churchyard cemetery of the former St Peters Church of England that was lost to fire in 1968. 
The museum is nestled within lovely gardens in a peaceful part of the Mackay district. 

The $10 entry fee covers a self guided tour and light refreshments. 
Outdoor seating is available for 30 people.
