Twilight at the Temple

Built Heritage and Culture

Step into history as you’ve never seen it before.
As part of the National Trust’s Trust Talks series, this special regional evening event will transform the historic Hou Wang Chinese Temple and Museum into a glowing stage for culture, art, and storytelling.

As the sun dips below the horizon, join a twilight guided tour that brings the Temple’s architecture, symbolism, and centuries-old stories to life under a wash of evocative lighting. Every shadow and shimmer will reveal new layers of meaning, offering a fresh perspective on this treasured site.

The evening continues with an exclusive gallery talk on the powerful joint exhibition by artists Glynis Lee and Pamela See. Their contemporary works weave together themes of cultural memory, identity, and heritage — echoing the Temple’s enduring role in Queensland’s multicultural story.

Hear from the gallery manager about the inspiration behind the exhibition while you enjoy a cup of fragrant Chinese tea, served as part of the experience.

See the Temple in a breathtaking new light, and share meaningful moments of connection with built heritage and culture.
